Listed by Golf World in ‘The Best 10 ‘Open Championship’ Qualifying Courses’,
  and ‘Great Britain & Irelands Best 10 Opening Holes’,
  and described by Peter Alliss as “a real hidden gem”.

During 2009 Fairhaven will be hosting 3 prestigious events;

  In May the Club host the Fairhaven Trophies, an international 72 hole
  scratch championship for under 18year olds. The championship carries EGU &
  EWGA order of merit points, as well as World Amateur Golf Ranking points.

 The Final Qualifying Round for the Ricoh Women's British Open on
  Monday 27th July 2009

 The Ladies Golf Union - British Girls Home International Matches
  between the 4th and 6th August 2009.

 Future championships at Fairhaven will include;

  The annual staging of the Fairhaven Trophies;
  2010 - 30th April to 2nd May
  2011 - 29th April to 1st May
  2012 - 4th to 6th May

  The European Men's Seniors Team Championship,
  between the 29th August and 4th September 2010.

 The R&A have selected Fairhaven to host the 2012 R&A World Junior Open,
  Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July
  The week the Open Championship, is held at neighbouring
  Royal Lytham & St Annes GC.

The course is consistently maintained and presented to the highest standard.
  The design and layout present a fair challenge to golfers of all abilities,
  especially when considering the 'risk & reward' course management elements
  of the game in negotiating the 118 links bunkers. Its sandy sub-soil means
  that perfect playing conditions can be enjoyed throughout the year.
  Fairhaven fully lives up to its designation as a Championship course, which
  is enjoyed by all who play it.
  The Club enjoys entertaining all its visitors, when a warm and friendly
  welcome is guaranteed.
